How to choose the perfect siding contractor?

Have you been searching for a siding contractor and are unsure of what to look for? The following are a few things to consider before choosing a contractor.

1. Does your local expert have sufficient experience?

Avoid hiring contractors who do not specialize in siding repair/ replacement. Instead, hire a local contractor that takes pride in their work and wants to establish a good reputation in their community. Elite Construction and Remodel has had over 10 years of experience and exclusively works in the Sacramento region which includes the neighboring cities such as Orangevale, Folsom, Granite Bay, Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, etc. The Elite Team believes in integrity service and quality work. Their attention to detail and years of experience provides a good balance between how fast they finish repairs and how well they do them.

2. Check that the Siding Contractor is Licensed and Insured

We encourage you to check whether or not your contractor is licensed through the Contractors State License Board. Elite Construction and Remodel’s license is 976922 and was issued on September 19, 2012. The license is current and active. Additionally you will be able to see the contractor’s bond information and workers compensation.

3. Does the siding contractor stay up to code?

Familiarize yourself with the state and international requirements for exterior wood siding. If a general contractor directs you to install exterior siding that may violate the code, you should bring up the concern in writing to protect yourself. All of the members in the Elite Team are vigorously trained and educated. They know the code as it relates to exterior home repair and are in the habit of always staying up to code.

4. Make Sure the Contractor follows OSHA regulations

A contractor who fails his workers, will also one day fail you. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was created in order to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for workers by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance. OSHA regulations not only protect workers but also homeowners and their loved ones. The Elite Team holds safety meetings every 2 weeks and is constantly retraining their workers in order to guarantee a safe environment for all.

5. Evaluate Customer Reviews and Testimonials of the Siding Contractor

You can start off by asking your family and friends for recommendations for siding contractors that can deliver quality workmanship. You can also check online reviews on third-party websites like Google, Facebook, Yelp, nextdoor, etc. Elite boasts a 4.9/5 stars rating on google and over seventy 5 star reviews on Yelp. You can also refer to the testimonials on our website for further peace of mind. While one or two negative reviews are not a cause for concern, check to make sure that there aren’t recurring problems that are common among reviewers. Feel free to give us a call at (916) 469-4660 and ask for references from previous customers and direction to public reviews.
